Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT)
The Chicago Center for Arts & Technology’s free youth arts programs focus on the intersection of art and technology through project-based learning and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). We strive to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of our students by offering postsecondary advising, individual counseling, and mentorship services. Our no-cost programs will enable youth to realize their creative potential and share it with their communities and the world. Central to the success of CHICAT’s youth programs are curricula rooted in storytelling; allowing youth to share their perspectives of the world through their own lens. CHICAT aims to develop young people’s self-worth and community awareness through storytelling projects created in its state-of-the-art studios: Design Arts, Digital Arts, and 3D Maker Arts. We work with middle school students (6th, 7th, & 8th grade) and high school students. Courses and workshops for middle school and high school students are now available.
